My wife has just read my short story Holy Hikers. Her one question got me to thinking.
“Why are they driving a Toyota Sienna minivan?” she asked.
I couldn’t come up with a good answer. I like to describe things in detail and I do a lot of research in order to sound like I know what I am talking about. I presume that I have done that when I wrote the story, but I could not remember why I picked that particular vehicle. She even added that when I specified the type of wine they were drinking, it made sense (we both love that wine,) but the Toyota was out of line. I had to agree. Now, that story has been anthologized in StarkLight Vol. 4, but I intend to incorporate it in a collection titled Conversations with Zalman, so I thought why not change it? It would make so much more sense for them to travel in a nicely restored hippy bus. So, here is the revised version:
